Even experienced SysML users benefit from fine-tuning their practice—especially when it comes to connecting what’s on the diagram to what’s actually in the model. This course is a hands-on, high-impact refresher in SysML syntax, semantics, and structure, with a strong emphasis on how model elements interrelate through the containment tree. Participants will review all nine SysML diagram types through short, focused projects, gaining practical insight into how diagrams build up a coherent, queryable model. You’ll also work with a detailed reference model and explore how well-structured relationships support meaningful model queries and reuse. With dedicated attention to your metamodel, this course helps reinforce disciplined, standards-aligned modeling practices that ensure your work is consistent, reusable, and valuable to others throughout the system lifecycle.
This course is for practicing SysML users ready to take their modeling to the next level. If you regularly create SysML diagrams and want to ensure they’re backed by a well-formed, consistent model structure, this course will deepen your skills. Ideal for systems engineers, MBSE practitioners, modelers, and architects who want their models to do more than look correct—they want them to be correct, usable, and reusable.
This is targeted for practitioners who have previously taken an introductory SysML modeling course. It is expected that participants are comfortable creating all 9 SysML diagrams and working in CATIA Magic products. You will also need a computer with a large screen or external monitor to engage with the complex SysML models shown in class and capable of running CATIA Magic Software (Cameo).
